A friend of mine had a vintage motorcycle shop and was offered quite a bit of money to be the centerpiece of one of these shows which would focus on restoring old bikes. Several months into the show he discovered that the producers were taking his people out in the evenings, getting them drunk, and plying them for dirt on the other show participants that they could use to "sex the show up." My friend tended to hire folks recently out of jail and give others a chance, so he was a prime target for this kind of slime-ball TV.

He consulted his attorney and determined he was within the terms of the contract to terminate it for cause. He walked away from a pile of cash, but could look himself in the mirror in the morning.

Unfortunately, his wonderfully grungy shop ran afoul of gentrification in his neighborhood resulting in his losing his business to city ordinances they had never bothered him about until the values started to skyrocket. No good deed goes unpunished, especially so today it would seem.

I love fast and loud! I think they turned that 34 5 window into a beautiful car! If you don't like the show, don't watch it! You all are a bunch of crotchety old farts!

Not really, as this site was started for the restoration of Model A's, not the hot rodding of them.

This thread needs to be passed to the V8 section via the T section so they can add their complaints too.

MOST TV is "MAKE BELIEVE"--If you don't like it, go read a DICTIONARY! Look up the word "FUN"!
