Oil pump Identification
In the pile of parts that I'm sorting through to make a couple good, (mostly) stock engines (a 29 AA and a 30 A), I've found these three oil pumps, with some similarities and differences.
For instance, the one on the left has a couple big screws visible and a top collar at 90 degrees to the other two. The other two are pretty similar but have a couple edges that don't look like they came from the same production run; maybe different years? Any hints/info?

Re: Oil pump Identification
See page 238 and 394 in the SERVICE BULLETINS for oil pump changes.
The far right looks like the 1928 style with the spring mounted in the oil pan. The middle one has the spring mounted to the pump bottom plate. The left one is later when the pump was changed from a forging to a casting and ribs were added to the shaft. |

Re: Oil pump Identification
There were five (5) Oil Pump Assemblies that were involved with the production of the Model A/AA Ford: (1) A-6600; (2) A-6600-B (Type 1); (3) A-6600-B (Type 2); (4) A-6600-B2 (Soldered Cover Design); and (5) A-6600-B3 (Bolted Cover Design).
