Pickup truck bed fabricator
Bob Jones from DC NOS told me that someone fabricates replicas of early Ford pickup truck beds & tailgates. Looking for a bed for a '37 pickup daily driver, nothing fancy. Ran into a '36 bed in Hershey, which I was told was similar to a '37 Any suggestions ? Thank you Fordbarners.

Try Macs. They have complete reproduction Ford beds and all the parts to restore them.

Re: Pickup truck bed fabricator
I got my 32 bed from Mac Hils in Missouri and the quality was excellent, just like the original.

Macs does not make its truck sheet metal offerings whereas Mack Hils makes their own and have been doing so for several decades. They (Mack Hils) have an excellent reputation.

Re: Pickup truck bed fabricator
Thank you all. Are the parts that Macs auto sells made by Mack Hils in MO, or are they imported junk ? Mack Hils looks like a first class operation. They are an OEM supplier, with a mfg. standards system, and they are made in the USA. You can't beat that.

With Mac's (Eckler's) you have to know the specific part and vendor. On some items they have chosen to carry the cheapest stuff regardless of quality, on others the best regardless of price. Likely on the bed parts it is Mack Hills, as there are no other manufacturers for the 1935-37 bed parts I am aware of. |
