Default Fuel Level Sender ID

I believe the fuel level sender in my '46 Super Deluxe was changed out at some point in the cars past. Anyone have any info on this sender, as to its origin?

Can you see how it compares to an original functional? Is it a points heater coil type or a resistance style?

I have not removed the sender from the tank. The dash gauge works, but only reads 3/4 when the tank is full. I was planning to pull the sender to see what type of float it had, and check the range.

My guess would be it is a repo resistance style sender.

Argentine aftermarket, pulled one from my '41 could not get it to read correctly, found another repro on eBay, it reads a little better, but still not 100%, from a half tank on down it is pretty accurate. I just needed something to tell me when I about to run a out. Best is to find a King-sealy unit either used or nos.
