Post Key Blank

I need to make a copy of the ignition key for my '28 Ford roadster. Any help with identifying a make and number?

Most places that cut keys have the most common A key blank, it is usually B1,or B2, and also listed as for locking gas caps.

Maybe a locksmith, but not the local WalMart. The DOOR key was duplicated: no problem. But they did not have the blank for the ignition key.

Speaking of pop-outs, is the number visible on the outside of the cylinder, had my
p-o rebuilt and thought it showed, now I don't see it. Any help?

From 1928 until mid 1930 on the original the number was stamped on the round nickel bezel and could be seen.
It is hidden behind the dash if the number is on the key switch housing. (mid 1930 until end).

My suggestion is to contact the "Key Guy", Cal Allen, Chandler, AZ 480-892-0456. Cal has been around the hobby for many years and is expert in everything pertaining to Model A keys and locks. He is also a nice fellow to do business with.

Here ia a picture of the 1928-early 1930. The handle on the key is correct for 1930-1931, but it fits this lock and is what came with it when I bought it at the swap meet.

I used locking gas cap blanks. The blank for an Allis Chalmers / Simplicity "Homesteader" mower worked also.
