Re: Model B head in model A block! Question?
The model B is higher compression. To get that, they narrowed up the "triangle" that connects the valves to the cylinder. This means the B gasket has a bit more material between the center stud holes and the edge of the heart shaped opening. Both gaskets should seal, but the A gasket will be backed away from the combustion chamber and leave a crevasse. Maybe not a big deal, but why not use a B?

Re: Model B head in model A block! Question?
Ford had a special gasket for the B police head. Best used an original gasket and head to make their pattern. I'm .125" bore w/ B head their gasket works great. 509G

Many thanks for the replys, in fact the head is marked C on top... correct to the model "B" Ford 32-34 four cylinder engine... compression is 4.6.

Re: Model B head in model A block! Question?
with a B head or a Model A police head you must use a B head Gasket........ , the compression ring around the combustion chamber are different, I have been there and done that.
