Potential Quail Problem
The new quails seem pretty heavy to me. Has anyone had a problem with vibration causing the filler to break from the radiator. Never experienced it just curious----thanks

Re: Potential Quail Problem
I've had 2 of them. The weight of them never gave me a problem. The problem I had is the cheap material they are made of. Both of them broke at the hinges. The last one I had broke when I stopped at a red light. It bounced down the fender on to the running bord my wife opened the door picked it up and handed to me. Now I use a plane radiator cap .

Had one of that vintage - only problem was fit between upper and lower halves of cap was loose, causing quail to vibrate. Replaced cardboard (?) gasket between them with thicker rubber one which solved problem. |

Re: Potential Quail Problem
Just the plain cap. Nothing to break

Re: Potential Quail Problem
My pickup had a quail on it when I bought it. Not long after, the quail fell off the cap. I had a regular cap so I just used that until I could get another quail. Well, I got the new quail, but got use to the stock style cap that I just left it there.

Re: Potential Quail Problem
I had to add a thin O-ring to the regular gasket. The gasket that came with the new quail was not thick enough and the quail would start to open a little.
