Default Rear seat in a Town Sedan, Wood base

I'm building the rear seat for my Briggs 30 T.S. and the wood is so far gone I can't get and dimensions from some of it or it is missing altogether. The dimensions I need are for the rear piece that goes across the rear of the seat base. I can get the Length, but I need the width of the piece and the radii of the corners. Thanks in advance.

Hi Terry,

I am in the process of restoring an early 1930 TS from France. Unfortunately it had no back seat. But I was able to buy one at ebay. The seller said, it was from an early 1930 TS, but of course i can't be sure. But it fits in the car. The dimensions of this seat you require are:
width of the rear piece: 3" 1/16
Radius of corner: 3/4"
I hope I understood your question correctly, if not please tell me. The attached pictures should show the measuerements in inches.

Michael

Michael, Thank you for this. I will send you pictures of what I've made so far and the two original pieces I used for a pattern. I can work in wood and metal but not computers, I'm too old and my skills don't extend as far as adding pictures in a posting. What you posted pictures of, seemed correct. Except for the damage in the front corner.

Terry,
thanks for the pictures. so I can be pretty sure to have the correct seat. Your reconstruction process looks much more elaborate than mine. With my A I am just before the final assembly,, can I asked you some questions if I cant get any further?

Michael
