Crab type cap on 59-A distributor
Can you put a crab type cap on a 59-A distributor. It is the 2bolt type with the 2 piece cap, it is very hard to feed the wires through this cap and get it back together. Do you change the rotor, and what about the spring wire that swings over to hold the cap in place. Do you keep this wire, or is there something else that holds the crab cap on? Thanks, Jack

Yes, I got the cap, rotor and clips from Mac Van Pelt. Just finished it today.

Re: Crab type cap on 59-A distributor
As Bill says, just change the cap and the retaining clips:
21A-12106 cap (with brass contacts)........... $22.50 21A-12144S clip & pin kit........................... $ 6.00 21A-12200 rotor..................................... $ 9.50 We keep them in stock.

You must change the rotor also to go with the crab cap. Walt
