30 town sedan rear seat
Gentleman,
Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on removing the back cushion and armrest assembly from a 30 deluxe town sedan? I think a rat mad a nest behind it darn it! Is it just hanging on hooks or do I need to unbolt it somewhere? Thanks, Joel Harris |

Mine just pulls out. Not sure if that is the way it is supposed to be, but that is how mine works.

Re: 30 town sedan rear seat
Do you push it up from the bottom to unhook it and the center armrest stays as part of the seat assembly?

Mine hangs on 2 clips, just under the belt rail. Lifts straight up. You might have to take the seat bottom first.

Thanks for that picture. I appreciate members posting pictures like this. Good reference for a Town Sedan owner (me) that has never seen one naked
That's a keeper for my "Future Reference" file. |

You have to push the backrest up, it will come out with the center armrest as a part of the backrest. May be you have to press against it to take the pressure out of the clamps. There are no bolts. Michael

Thanks gentleman, will work at it a little more. The orginal mohair is fragile and I did not want to do any more harm than the last 85 years has done.

Re: 30 town sedan rear seat
Any suggestions on quality replacement mohair. Much of the original interior is in good shape and I do not want to remove it. I just really need new seat covers and the side panels for the rear seats.

Re: 30 town sedan rear seat
If most of the upholstery is good enough to leave, then I'd consider just tucking a blanket over the seats. An Indian blanket or Mexican blanket always looked good for jobs like this.

Re: 30 town sedan rear seat
LeBaron Bonney has the mohair, woven from the Moe goat fir. They will sell just the seat material.
