Default small plastic ball

Just rebuilt my teapot carb can't remember where the plastic ball goes

The plastic ball goes in the vertical channel for the spark valve operation. There is a brass slotted screw with a stem on it that goes in the bottom of the carb (upwards), that holds the ball in. The carb has to be removed from the engine to install it. The ball was only used from 1953 thru early 1955 Ford product teapots. It was eliminated in mid-year '55 production carbs.

The steel ball may be too heavy. The vacuum advance systems (Loadomatic) on those engines (Thru '56) weren't the best. I would replace with the plastic ball, or no ball at all. Also make sure the channel isn't dirty with carbon (pretty common) if you decide to use the plastic ball.
