Default Toolbox for my 33

Just picked up a firewall toolbox manufactured by a local sheet metal shop.
Very impressed, good to see quality workmanship is still available.

Looks great.
Just wondering how much they charged and who did it for you?

Was this tool box an approved accessory for sedans or was it limited to other styles like roadsters?

Hi there, That tool box was an Australian made item only and fitted to all Australian built closed cars and many open cars as standard equipment from new. 1933 and 1934 cars only. It was not listed as an accessory in the parts catalog and does not seem to be listed at all. USA accessory DUNFORD tool boxes are quite different. Regards, Kevin.

I bought a new Dunford toolbox in 1973 at the first grand national early Ford V8 meet Dearborn Michigan. Installed it on my newly restored 33 phaeton. Lauren Sorenson ended up with a picture of it on my firewall and it was in his newly issued magazine. I've been told someone does reproduce the Dunford toolbox.
