I had a 4-digit bare block several years ago, maybe 10, and thought it worth a fortune but only got $75 for it.

A four digit engine would have greater value if it was attached to a four digit chassis.

So if this is rare on one end of the spectrum, what would a 1931 December engine be worth? This engine is cast different and has a special pan and dipper tray. It was only built in this pattern for 1 month.

Wish the head gasket was off to take a look at the top of the block. On the head is that a scratch or a crack from the water port to the inside cylinder?
