Default Battery Group Size

What lead-acid battery group size works best in a 1930-'31 Model "A" with a stock battery support?

What manufacturer is that? I checked our local Tractor Supply store here in California and they sell a 6 volt Exide battery for $69.00.

I normally buy my batteries from Costco which now carries Interstate, but the only 6 volt batteries they have are labeled "golf cart" batteries. Not sure how well they will work on the Model A.

Group 1 or 19L (check dimensions). usually 550 -575 cold cranking amps.
We've had good success with Optima's which last a long time

Golf cart or small tractor battery should work, as long as it’s a group one size.
I have a small equipment one in my car from les schwab tires. It’s made by Johnson controls, and has good cranking amps ect.

lead acid battery,

Ask for a Group 1 battery for 6 volts.

9 1/8 length, 7 1/8 width, 9 3/8 height

6v group 1 batteries are found by the following numbers;

NAPA - BAT 7244
Exide - 7200
Tractor supply - Com 1 HP (part number 0470506) I think.
Autozone - 1-6 volt
Ultrapower #901MF from Deka
interstate part # 1-VHD

Original Ford Battery Dimensions (at bottom):
Width: 7 1/8" to 7 1/4"
Length: 8 7/8" to 9"

Mike provided Group 1 dimensions.

I prefer Deka offerings over anything else.
