Default 1932 Ford Horns

I have two trumpets for a 1932 Ford V8 Klaxon horn one is 5-1/4inch diameter X 6-1/8 inch long and the other is 4-3/4inch diameter X 5-7/8inch long which is the correct one for a 1932 Ford V8 .

I measured mine at the widest part of the trumpet at 5 1/8" and 9 7/8"over all, trumpet to the tip of the boat tail. It should have a tag that says the Sparks Worthington Co. Sparton Hope this helps

Not sure , but I don't recall Klaxon making a horn for '32 Fords. The horns for a '32 were made by Sparton(Sparks Worthington Company).

Tom,

That's correct.

Obviously I have a bunch of the correct trumpets, but they're all 1,600 miles away from where I'm at presently. Sorry.

I'm assuming that unlike the diameter difference cited, they both have the same diameter where they attach to the center section of the horn, otherwise the correct one would be readily evident as only one would fit.

The Klaxon horns I am referring too are Sparton horns, both the trumpet sections are the same diameter where they attach to center section of the horn and the attachment holes are in the same place.
I know that the Model A Sparton horns trumpet diameter is 4-3/4inches.
The Model A Sparton horn trumpet horns attachment holes have the same configuration as the 1932 horns holes but they are in a different position when they bolt on to the center section.

Correct; except for the orientation of the holes for attaching the trumpet to the center section the '32 trumpet is otherwise identical in all respects to the Model A trumpet. In other words, the smaller of the two that you have is the correct one.

I have just found another trumpet 5 inch in Diameter same length as earlyrides 1932 horn.
Dave if you say the shorter 4-3/4inch dia trumpet is correct for 1932 Ford models what are the other 5inch & 5-1/8inch trumpets all off Sparton horns. with same hole configuration for.

As I said earlier, I am far away from being able to measure mine, so your best bet is to ignore me for now.

David thanks for your reply, the only one that has replied with measurements so far is earlyride, thanks very much, but he did not say it was a 1932 Sparton horn

I finally went to shop and looked at my ORIGINAL 32 horn From 32 bought from original owner -Deluxe not driven in the winter! The horn bell measures 5-1/4 Diameter and is 6-1/8 long and still has the orfiginal bracket with the dinple in the bracket. Hope this helps or confirms what you have. Kerk

'Kerk', thanks very much for the EXACT information on the 32 horn trumpet I required.
Therefor the 32 horns could have a slightly different sound to the smaller trumpet Sparton Model A horns too.
Also thanks too 'earlyride' for your information.
