Well, I couldn’t wait. Beings I’m in the area I decided to drop in. I spent quite a few years on the farm raised by a farm family but not in this beautiful area. Waving, I’m used to that!! Puts a smile on every time.

Dennis be sure to stop at the RockFord As registration tent in front of the funeral home to introduce yourself. You will be a California celebrity! If you need some local support in this area please don’t hesitate to contact me or Mike Peters who farms outside of town. Dave C Email: [email protected]

True, on the winters they can be harsh for a while. The old timers always told us 'You will get about 6 weeks of really cold weather at sometime, but the rest isn't that bad.'
Since I retired and don't have to drive the winter roads to get to work, I don't even notice that anymore. A heated garage and an old car to fool with makes the winter go by pretty fast.
A number of our friends will go to Texas or Florida for 6 weeks or so and for them that breaks up the winter season.
I've lived here most of my life except for time spent in Germany for my employer, but loved it there too anyway! Only never hardly saw any old cars there.
Welcome back!!

Cool. Thanks for the link. Looks like a pretty nice show that I missed. I hope Gilmore in Sept. will be just as big or bigger with a lot of vendors. My wife has been looking for something to wear from that time period.

Garwood, I'll tell you a must-do if you have never attended before, and that is the Old Car Festival in Greenfield Village in September. I see you are in Michigan so it would make a nice trip for you.

I've never seen anything quite like it before. It is amazing. There are no cars admitted mfg. after 1932 as I recall, and no street rods or any of that stuff just honest to goodness antique cars. Seeing them driving around at night with their headlights on is GREAT! Period buildings, people dressed up like the 20's... really cool.

2021 is unconfirmed yet I guess but I am sure it will be a 'go' this year.

Thanks Jeff for the info. I will mark that on my calendar and check it again for dates when it gets closer.

My wife and I are planning on going to Gilmore and I told her since I have the truck, I want to wear overalls, staw hat and a corn pipe. Throw a bail of hay in the back with some old milk cans. She said "that's nice" in a sarcastic way. But later that night, I saw her looking at pictures on her phone of '30 dresses and hats. I think I planted the bug.

Another vote for the Old Car Fest. My second favorite car event after Hershey.

You'll see cars you've never heard of doing laps around the village. A good collection of cars and likeminded people enjoying the hobby.
