Real old time valve seat cutter
I bought one today! It was in a rickety wooden box, several anghle cutters, a support arbor, couple of crank handles. 3 flat cutters for new seat inserts. etc. But only one pilot, if you can call it that. But not a clue how the dam thing works. The name "Rigid" is stamped into the back of some of the cutters. There are 5 deg, 15 deg, 45 deg. and 60 (?) deg.
1) Any one know if this is complete? 2) what these things are going for? 3) I tried researching it on line but not much luck. Any info would be appreciated. I date it about 1910 - 1920, maybe older. Thanks, Terry Last edited by Terry,NJ; 09-05-2014 at 12:34 PM. |

Re: Real old time valve seat cutter
I have a old rigid valve seat cutter. But it's for plumbing. I did not know they made any for cars. I guess when we were manufacturers and not importers. Company's made all kinds of stuff.

Re: Real old time valve seat cutter
The name is written in script form and appears to be, The Rigi t or Rigi d or Rigid master. It's kinda hard to say just which, Down below, It says Mowser, Indianapolis , in a smaller, but a sort of printed Font (New times roman?) The cutters all have a bronze bushing that spins on a pilot (Which I don't think I have) They are marked with the dia. ( 2" ) and the angles. Thanks, Terry
