When you jumped it, did you jump it off a 12V vehicle? Did you connect it pos to pos and neg to neg? Assuming the jumper vehicle is a modern one, that would be neg ground. Did you connect the ground on the jump vehicle to the live neg terminal on the truck, and live (Pos) on the vehicle to ground on the truck?

I'm thinking you may have reverse polarised it and got yourself in a pickle.

Charge the battery (the right way round).
fit a new regulator.
Flash the field to the bat terminal two or three short jabs is all.

Cross your fingers and start it up.

It could be that the generator might have been marginal before and might need attention after all these shenanigans.

Mart.

That's excellent news. Now you don't have to go out and buy a "Prius" or a "Cube" as some of the "less-educated" on here have suggested.

On the advice of other Corvette guys, I purchased a solid state replacement that worked perfectly. I just swapped the covers and it even looked right.

I believe Tom Wesenberg does for model A cutouts.

Explain why it's sooo bad to own a prius??? Has nothing to do with owning a flathead. I think most can understand the benefit of both. or not. You can own both and it doesn't make you less a flathead guy or motorhead. Btw.. my daily is a f150 @ 14mpg. . haha ugh

btw... no power band. It's just a new technology.

It's not a substitute, just something else.

If you mean something as a joke, it's customary and helpful if you include one of the "Big Grin" or similar "smilies". Otherwise, it looks like you're serious.
