I have a long range radio antenna on my old woodie, going from just above center of front windshield down to just below the windshield wiper switch under dash. I am in need of the antenna wire from this "bayonet style" male connection to the radio. I have never seen a bayonet style connection for antenna wire. Does someone know where to find cables with these connections

Try DXEngineering.com. Mainly ham radio gear but lots of antennas and connectors. Call them.

A bayonet fitting and coaxial to me is a RG fitting.
Depending on size and impedans of the cable you need different types.
Just search rg59 if its a normal car antenna size of cable.

Your radio should have an antenna wire 'tail' about two feet long coming out of the radio chassis with the correct connector on its end....

What is the year of your car? Is the antenna wire you have, the one you describe, is it original to the car? My '34 antenna wire, which is original to the car, has a bayonet style connector on it.

I got a harness for the spare tire antenna from Tyree Harris with the old style antenna connecter for my 36 ---I have to modifiy it for running board antenna though

WHAT YEAR??? The antenna plugs into the top of the radio box for 40 OR 41. There is no antenna lead to plug in. The antenna you picture appears correct on the radio end. Remove the threaded connector at the end, it is not correct, pull it off. See the Mac's catalog for part 01A-18808 which threads into the radio from the top of the dash, and assist in holding the radio to the dash as well as insulating the antenna from grounding against the dash metal. This connector is covered with the plastic trim nut 11A-18818 for 41. Before installing the radio make sure the antenna will plug into the top of the radio (snug slip fit). If the original radio box connector has been replaced or broken you will have to have it repaired. You can also check that the 18808 threads into the top of the radio properly (remove before installing radio). Then install the radio.

Terry thanks for response. the is for the 41-48 fords. must use a cable from antenna down to lower side of radio. this connection is several inches above the radio. I may have to MAKE or adapt the female connection to standard cable. I am not to much in the know about electronics items so hence the inquiry here on the barn.

Pete thanks for that. wish the pic was closer up so I could see the female end. I only need about a foot of cable/wire from my connection to the radio but in a pinch i may order it and return if it is not correct.

Flathead thanks that looks closest so far and I may try and buy a few and see if I can adapt a standard cable.

FOUND IT !! dennis carpenter has it BUT: DISCONTINUED Just my luck this is the URL http://dennis-carpenter.com/radio-an...p/21A-18817-S/

It looks some what simple though and my find connection to adapt.
