Flywheel runout
How can I correct .080" runout on my flywheel. The magnet/coil gap varies from .020" to .100". One of the brass screws broke and caused some damage when the magnet hold down went flying around. I replaced the coil ring, the brass screws, the ring gear and a couple of hold down plates. The runout was already there before I took the trans apart because I noticed it when I took the cover off the hogshead.
Will it put out enough AC or can I shim the flywheel? |

Re: Flywheel runout
You may need to find the procedure for setting the magnet height for all the magnets if there is a gap problem between the tips of the magnets and the magneto pick up.

You don't shim the flywheel.
