Default Is this an early model T generator cutout?

I was told this was for the early generator equipped cars. Can anyone confirm this? If so, what years would it be used on?

I refurbish, adjust and test later Ford cutouts up through 1938, but am not famiIiar with early model T applications.
Thanks,
Steve

Model T's are negative ground, not positive like the A and V8. I am sure there are some folks on the net that would like to have cutouts rebuilt.

Thanks, I understand that. Cutouts don't care about polarity, but generators do.

Not Ford factory, but can be used on a Ford. From the factory, the cut-outs were round.

Thanks for the reply. I am very familiar with all the variants of the round cutouts, those are what I service, repair and refurbish. I was told that the very early generator cars - like 1919 used this one. That is what I'm trying to confirm. So are you saying that even the very first generator cars in 1919 used the round style?

Here are a few of my refurbished cutouts.
Thanks
Steve

You should take this opportunity to tell us your procedure and pricing since you have an audience. I'm intrigued.

The first cutouts were mounted to the firewall not the generator. The photos of them I have seen looked to be rectangular.
Also the rectangular cutouts were used on several different makes of cars and also sold as general replacements. I had one on my Model T.

Thanks for your interest. I didn't intend this thread to be a plug for my work since I haven't done much in the model T era. To date, my focus has been the model A and early V8 era cutouts. I've advertised in those for sale forums. To answer many of the questions I get, I made a video that explains how they work and what I do. I hope you find it helpful.

This is a little sign I made describing what I do with them.
