I recently bought this cool NOS Ford battery box. Can anyone tell me what years it is used for? Says it is a type 40 ?
Thanks! |

Its a 40-10660 case used in Ford batteries from 1934 thru 1939. See image.

Re: Ford Script Battery Box what year?
Keith, I'm confused by your comments. The only picture that I see besides mine was posted by Bergy1. If you look closely you will see that there are 3 compartments in the battery case that would hold the plates for 3 cells if the battery was rebuilt. This looks like an original case or a good repro.

Re: Ford Script Battery Box what year?
That's the way the old tar top batteries were constructed. The case is generally hard rubber like the stuff the old hair combs used to be made from. Henry liked his name or initial on things no matter where they were placed in the vehicle.
