35 pickup windshield moulding
35 Pickup -I am installing a new headliner and the trim pieces that go with the headliner along with the windshield trim. I purchased the truck in card board boxes and am not sure if the pieces in the pictures are part of the headliner and windshield trim. If anyone has any knowledge of these pieces and could share I would be grateful. Thank You

Re: 35 pickup windshield moulding
The picture on the left is the trim for the doors. The right hand picture lower two pieces are windshield trim pieces. I see the door trim pieces rarely used on reupholstery.

Re: 35 pickup windshield moulding
The first picture is the door trim, these are important since they will secure the headliner at the top of the door and the rear of the door. The second picture has the two trim pieces that attach to the interior of the A pillar. The other two in the photo I don't recognize. I can post some pic's as well if you like.

If you are planning on using the "Plastic" reuphoster kit there may not be enough material to shove the plastic back fully into the corner where the trim pieces go. To solve this, on my truck, because I like that little piece of trim, I used a piece of the small trim on the bumper of a 2000 (or other close years) Mercury Grand marquis, trimmed to fit. (You may want to peel the chrome trim off before using it because it will buckle up in the area of the bend.) Sand lightly and paint it black. Looks neat.

Re: 35 pickup windshield moulding
Thanks everyone for the help. Makes a great deal of in your confidence level when your working alone. I have one other question about the headliner. I'm using the original type cardboard kit headliner. Where the headliner comes down from the roof top and meets the top of the windshield, are there trim pieces that secure the headliner across the top of the windshield or just screws ?. I get this right and it's going to be a Happy 4th !

Re: 35 pickup windshield moulding
I'm not aware of any trim piece used above the windshield, I fastened mine with 4 trim screws equally spaced to secure this area above the windshield. I plan on painting the screws black once I'm finished.

Just screws with finish washers (Little cup shaped thingies.) Not sure of number without looking at my truck, but you can count the screw holes.

Re: 35 pickup windshield moulding
Here are some photos that should help you with how the headliner is fastened along the windshield. There is also a photo showing the trim piece between the rear of the headliner and the back of the cab panels.
Hope it helps Don |
