Default Thermal Belt Model A Club Hill Climb

The Thermal Belt Model A Club puts on a hill climb every year. Today's event was blessed with GREAT weather and a nice turnout of cars, some from as far away as Texas. I drove over to Spindale for the day and thoroughly enjoyed meeting some new folks and shooting a few pics. This event just keeps getting better and better.

Thats Ron Kelley's new truck. He put all the sheet metal together for the cab, then The shop i work at did the Body work and paint on the cab, fenders, and running boards. I didn't spray the paint on that one, but i did the majority of the body work on the body, minus the doors. The truck is unbelievable, he brought it over before he left for the hill climb so we could do some touch up work where it got damaged during the upholstery work and putting together. We CRUISED down the highway at 70 mph. The motor didnt seem stressed at all, even with that load of a truck. It is one of Ron's all out motors, 5 main bearing girdle, Miller OHV head, combined with all his little motor tricks. It's suppose to make about 160 HP. As for the chassis, he took 2 AA frames and combined them to make the wheel base 196 inches, and the over all length of the truck is 26 feet i believe. The thing is a monster.

Thanks for providing the details. I was really impressed by the overall quality and attention to details. The fact that it is powered by a 4 cyl is amazing. Shame about the broken crank in the race car...hope they made it back to TX ok.

Didn't know they snapped the crank. You can only run them as hard as he does for so long. That speedster motor is more unbelievable than the truck motor.
