Flathead 6 finned aluminum head
If anyone with a 226 "H" series 6 is interested, there is a NOS Edmunds finned aluminum head on epay. Item #264049726367. Very pricey @ $5,000 or offer.

Re: Flathead 6 finned aluminum head
For $5,000, I'd use that money to ditch that 6 and buy a fully worked flat head V8. LOL!

Re: Flathead 6 finned aluminum head
Not necessarily. Back in the '60's I had the job of replacing one of these with a reman. For some reason I had to pull the head, and found a crack running from valve seat to cylinder. The boss sent it back to the rebuilder. They sent what supposed to be another engine but I noticed it had the same pipe plug that I had ground down for clearance. So we pulled the head. Sure enough, it was the same engine. All they had done was peen the crack with a center punch!

Wow! For five grand I’d buy a blower for a V8 instead!

Re: Flathead 6 finned aluminum head
For 5 grand I'd look into casting my own. Might not be cheaper but...

Speaking of over priced stuff on Ebay
This has been listed for at least 2 years. The pictures seem to show a heat warped and distorted part. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1940-Ford-D...d~3e:rk:1:pf:0
