'57 T-Bird frame question
Does anyone have a diagram of a '57 T-Bird frame with measurements showing the locations of the body mount bolts?
Thanks. |

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
Not on any of the pages listed for the 'body' or 'frame' that I found.
The closest thing I saw was a photo showing the length of the individual body to frame bolts. |

I have never seen the manual. It seems that someone that has gone through this would have shared the information.

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
What about the 1957 Thunderbird Body, Trim & Sealant Assembly manual put out by Ford? It's only 53 pages so there may be nothing on the actual body to frame installation.
This link is to a body cushion & mounting kit. It has an illustrated instruction sheet. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175349835538 It doesn't have measurements but it shows locations. This link has measurements. https://www.classictbird.com/pdf/Thu...htening-10.pdf |

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
I knew I had seen this before, it just took me a while to locate it. A few of these CD's are 800-900 pages.

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
Well ...
Now that I opened them and blew them up, they are FORD frame ILL's, same as the later MPC ILL's. There had to be some type of SPECIALTY MANUAL for the BIRD. THANX! ANYWAY What year is the catalog you have (print date)?

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
Well now don't I feel silly.
I just saw the header Ford and Thunderbird chassis parts, and the 1957 X type looked at a quick glance like my 57 Bird. Oops. I am using a CD by "Detroit Iron Information Systems" It is supposed to cover all 1957 Ford/T-Bird. It is a factory OEM Shop Manual, licensed by ford Motor Company. |

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
That's what I thought when I viewed the scan. It is early cataloging format. The CD set he bought must be different from most as they usually use the 1949/59 MPC FINAL ISSUE (1964) to copy.
I have a SEP 59 ISSUE that must have had most of that deleted.

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
Thanks guys.
They finished modifying the rack last night. Started with a shipping rack for a replacement/reproduction Bronco body and shifted the attaching points around. |

Re: '57 T-Bird frame question
Ain't that something? He said he got got from a dealer that was shipped a body ass from FORD to the dealer on that?
That has to have a heavy return charge on it. Who does he know, Henry himself? THANX!
