Default Wrong Bumper??

I recently purchased a 52 Ford Customline sedan--pretty much original condition. I was removing the front bumper. It has four bumper bolts in the front and one on each side. The side bolts are not attached to the body bracket, in fact they're a good two inches away from the bracket. Could this be a 53 or 54 front bumper?

Could be rear brackets.

I'm pretty sure the '52-'53 front bumper is the same. The '54 is different. Different enough that it would take serious work to make it fit on a '52 or '53.

Post a pic or two of yours. Could be a couple different things. Some people modify the brackets so the bumper tucks in closer to the body.
