Default Grancor Intake Manifold

I am looking for some information on a Grandcor 8BA 4 barrel intake Manifold. I am planning on selling it at the Portland OR swapmeet if they have it this year. I am really just interested in finding out how much demand there is for the Intake and approx value ?? I know that is hard but it seems like it is in excellent condition no cracks and the studs and threads seem good, I will try to post a picture. thanks I know there are a lot of Flathead EXPERTS here.
Not having much luck posting pictures cut I can e-mail if some one could help or would like to see it.

My Kowal age of after marker brand names, leads me to the point where they buy a set amount of manifold, heads and whatever from a foundry and put their names on them. Grancor was one of them. I know they made heads of their own design in limited quality. But I never saw one of their 4bl intakes. Putzing with this "stuff" teaches you allot when you actually push it to it's limited. A good example is the Edelbrock super dual. Offenhauser made two super duals one was similar to the Edelbrock, and the was higher by aprox 2" with larger ports. I had two of them and havent see another yet. So the Name on the part is he only thing you know about it.

Ron - Did you ever have one of the Edmunds dual intakes for 4 bolt carbs? There was one on eBay about 3 years ago; I thought that $400 was too much, and now I'm kicking myself. I have a real affinity towards small-base 2G's and would really liked to play with one on a big inch flathead. Also, "Grancor" equipment was made by the Granatelli brothers, who I believe, ran a modified flathead at Indianapolis. As such, I would expect their stuff was not generic run of the mill foundry product.

Live and learn. (I'll bet the next Edmunds that shows up goes for close to $1000; just my luck.)

BTW, To the O/P, if the guys in Portland aren't interested in the Grancor manifold, keep me in mind. I am planning a 4BBL comparison; I already have a Offenhauser, Sharp, Fenton, and Edmunds with a WCFB and a couple of small base 4G's and am planning an informal dust up.

I grew up in Chicago, and the Granatelli Bros were my heroes. Yes I did have one of the Original Granatelli heads, but very few of these were made. The Grancor head I think was an Offy. I posted a pic of the combustion chamber a few week ago.

Cobbie a price for the Grancor 4 barrel intake should be around $800.00 as a starting price and then see what one is willing to offer. The intakes value is more based on being collectable. I have found for the most part the Grancor intakes and heads were not similar to any of the other brands however their production numbers were lots lower than many others. So that being the case anyone starting out collecting intakes would find this one to be an interesting addition however they were not extremely rare. I base this guidance from my years of collecting over {175} intakes.

Is it my imagination or is that a Holley bolt pattern on it?

The Grancor 4 barrel intake is identical to the Weiand casting just the name is different. The carb used on these early intakes was the GM square bolt pattern four barrel used on Caddy's, Buicks and Oldsmobile's in the fifty's and the Carter 4 jet carb from the fifty's would also work.
Those small four barrels on this type of intake work extremely well. The Holley carb bolt pattern is a bit larger than this casting but a nice adapter is available so a Holley could be used on these early flathead intakes.

Looks like the old "square" pattern to me. I think the small mounting pad with protruding "ears" are misleading.

I Measured the bolt pattern and it measures - base outside is 4 5/8" square, the bolt pattern is 3 3/4" wide and 3 7/8" long center to center

As I wrote in post number 10 that's the square bolt pattern used on some early carbs from the mid fifty's.

I have a set of Carters. Bolt pattern is 4 1/4W x 5 5/8 L. These may have started life together because there’s no choke on one. Is this the Holley pattern you guys a talking about?.........Mark
