When you decide to overhaul your steering box, and intend on installing one of the "Steering Housing End Plates" A-3568-T, try the fit of your "Light Switch Bail" on the two ears of the plate to ensure proper fit and movement. This along with the recomendation of others to re-solder the tube to the plate, will aleviate frustrations of having to remove the steering housing end plate, to deepen the grooves in the plate ears.

Reforming the bail loops can be a pain, after everything has been painted and installed in the vehicle.

Good tip, Glen.I've learned to prefit EVERYTHING before painting, sure saves lots of frustrations later.

Mine leaked at the crimp and I had to solder it too .

I've been gas welding mine but solder would make a better looking finish and wouldn't need any grinding.
