Our 1931 S/W Fordor has a wood block above the rear window for a Dome Light. (The car was disassembled by the previous owner.) Please help with the following:
1) Does the Repro Dome Light get mounted flush to the wood block with screws from the inside of the light? 2) Does an On/Off Switch get mounted to the passenger side door post? 3) There's a single wire (green) coming out of the reproduction Dome Light. How is the Dome Light wired and grounded? Thanks very much for your help. |

Does your dome light mounting wood look anything like this?
I had to make my own because the one I found at an old junkyard did not fit right,

There is not a correct reproduction oval dome lamp made for the Model A Ford. The only reproduction dome lamps that I am aware of are the round ones for Coupe and Tudors. They mount more towards the center of the headliner. The oval dome lamps in the four door sedans and Victorias mounts above the rear window. |

Make sure that the dome light body is well grounded or the light will not work. In my Model "A," I soldered a second wire to the metal body of the light and ran it to a screw in the car body that I tested to have good ground continuity.
I also converted the dome light to LEDs.

These LEDs plug right into the standard socket. I also have them in my taillights.
