Slow cold cranking
like it says on a 80 degree day the first start of the day the starter cranks like the battery is half dead. new battery it works as normal in anything else. proper size cables good connections. immediatley after the first start i can shut the car off and restart it, it spins normally. suggestions please.

90% (a number I made up) of electrical problems are ground issues. You stated you have good connections, might recheck them just to be sure.

Disconnect 1 battery cable and check for current between the post you just took it off and the cable. It should have none. That is what was suggested in post #2.
When was the last time you had the starter motor apart and serviced? |

You could try and charge the battery first then try

Check battery voltage first thing in the morning before you start it. Should be at least 6.3 or so. Then check it while cranking. Off the top of my head, should be about 5 v.
