Has anyone experimented to change BLACK rubber to RED rubber?

Guess you know where I am going with this...the fan belt.

NO PAINT!

i dunno black is kinda well black - it would be very hard to dye it red that wont just come off. They do make paint specifically for vinyl and rubber...Worked wonders on some blue sun visors i needed for another car that i needed them to be black. Cannot tell its been painted - the vinyl fake cracks show right up, no streaks, no flaking, peeling, hardness, etc.

The black in all rubber is all an additive...carbon black. Rubber is naturally white. Some of theearly "nonskid" Firestone tires on Fords was white. I've heard that carbon black was added so that they would not look dirty from road grime. NOW, how was red radiator hose made?

Do I get a "B+"

OH, Nakowitz sells a bleach to get the carbon black our of fan belts then they can be re-died brown. But...one needs to find a belt that has thefive or seven layers that theoem belts have.

oh one final note...SW does not market Gilsonite stain any more but there are many others who do...stay tuned and I will have a Gilsonite producer...

Turning BLACK rubber to RED rubber is about as feasible as UN-SCRAMBLING eggs.

Carbon was added to rubber to increase it life and wearing abilities. It had NOTHING to do with tires getting dirty.

I just talked to someone that painted a black hose red several years ago and he says it still looks good, just regular paint.
