Keep them clean, tight, and bright, and you'll not have problems in that area.
At least unless the popout cable or metal generator tube touches the terminals.

Are you asking how they were connected to the terminals or how they were connected to the wires? If to the wires, i believe they were soldered. If to the terminals, as Pluck said...

What are "cable flags"? I have NEVER heard of such a part on the A so that is why I'm asking.
