Two pedal lengths 4 33/34 pass/comm ???
Hi; Just got bit by the two pedal lengths for 33/34. Green book lists the short length for Pass/Comm {13 1/4"} and the longer as Pass only [14 1/2"]. Question.. if the longer pedals are used in a comm [Pickup], How will the steel floor board fit?? UPDATE... Found the difference.. it's in the pedal mount brackets and the location of the pedal pivot shaft, two types used!!! Thanks all Newc

Re: Two pedal lengths 4 33/34 pass/comm ???
And, if you are trolling for swap meet pedal assys, watch out for the 'short' arm, the one that actuates the clutch or brake (I think brake). I think there are at least two versions. I got bit once buying the wrong pedal assy for a passenger. I've forgotten details, maybe someone can help.
edit... what David says, below.... Last edited by bobH; 10-01-2018 at 12:18 PM. |

Re: Two pedal lengths 4 33/34 pass/comm ???
Because of the close proximity of the grease fitting on the clutch pedal to the frame X member on the initial design of the '33 pedal set up, the pedal bracket was re-designed with a higher pedal shaft as a running change. That necessitated a simultaneous shortening of both the brake and clutch pedals. Both versions would likely be in use for a short time during the changeover in the '33 model year. It would be most unusual to encounter the early bracket and longer pedals on a '34.
