Looking for input on purchase with Video
Hi guys,
I'm looking at 29 Coupe for sale (link below) wanted to know people's thoughts on it. Scott https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=165080 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvXx...ature=youtu.be Last edited by sconnors; 04-01-2015 at 08:53 AM. |

Re: Looking for input on purchase
I would say it isn't quite all original as for one the radiator shroud is painted. But given that, I would be looking at it pretty closely. I think the price seems to be in the ballpark. If it were closer to me I might get in trouble, (again)

I noticed the radiator shell and headlights along with the mirror. I have been in contact with the seller and am seriously interested in purchasing it. It has had one paint job in its life. |

Re: Looking for input on purchase
It has 1930 steering wheel, front and rear bumpers. Not enough detail in the pictures to assess the claim of originality. My thought would be is it sitting on a later chassis?

Re: Looking for input on purchase
We don't know him here. Get the location and find someone to go look at it.
I'm with bikejunk, how does it sound how does it drive and stop. The money asked seems fair for a driver but is it a driver really?

Re: Looking for input on purchase
The seller was going to send me a link to a video later tonight. I noticed he just registered the other day for the forum. Think I'll stick with my pickup!

It looks like the wishbone ball is sitting on the trailer deck, looks like most
of the bright work is painted makes you wonder where else they skimped. Bob Last edited by Bob C; 03-31-2015 at 07:32 PM. |

Re: Looking for input on purchase
I'd naturally get a club member to check it out in person.

Re: Looking for input on purchase
What's that mounted just inside the drivers door, some kind of accessory switch? My '29 doesn't have that...

Re: Looking for input on purchase
It has a 1970's-early 80's LB interior kit. He doesn't show much but the front cushion looks like a do it yourself job. That doesn't mean it wouldn't please most folks.

Re: Looking for input on purchase with Video
Here's a video the seller sent. Can you guys give me any additional input after viewing? He swears the steering column is out of a 29 and the bumpers are a 29 and the car is a 29. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Looking for input on purchase with Video
I think you would be wise to evaluate this car in person before committing. It obviously is not running at this time.

Re: Looking for input on purchase with Video
Did I read that right? $11,000.00 for this????? $11k should buy you a much better car. I would not give more that $4k for this baby. Keep looking, please.

Re: Looking for input on purchase with Video
Amateur much older "fix up", probably good sheet metal - At that price, you need to lay eyes on it. If it was in the 7 - 10 K range it would be less of a gamble. This is only an amateur opinion.

Re: Looking for input on purchase with Video
Don't buy any Model "A" without a test drive. You will be surprised to find out other things that will be needed to be fixed, and other surprises....$11 grand is way too much for a car in this condition...IMHO

Re: Looking for input on purchase
Looks like the distributor on the seat isn't an A distributor, it's a B. You can buy some nice running older restorations and not have to do much for that kind of money. Look in the MARC and MAFCA magazines in the back. They have some high priced A's and also some nice older restorations that RUN! Just my thoughts
