Default removing cowl

mid 1930 roadster see pictures not exactly sure how to remove cowl, but before i do something harmful, i want to check procedure out with the BARN. it seems that the cowl brace at rear edge of cowl is factory welded to subrail. i might not be using proper names. it seems that on the rear edge of cowel, i have to remove 3 hinge screws and 2 rivets [ as well as break some welds to firewall and loosen top to arch over dash board]. then slide cowl toward rear, leaving brace in place.
right or wrong?any thing else to know?

so I have to ask why are you removing the cowl, if it is just to remove it from the sub rails. there is a couple rivets and some spot welds, it is better to locate the spot welds from the bottom of the sub frame. the door post gusset was spot welded together before the sub frame. there is not that many spot welds, just holding the sub frame in place.

now I see what you up to. you are only removing the cowl panel. it is spot welded down the front and down the door post and along the bottom. there is one rivet in the front lower corner. no one that I know of makes a good whole panel, you need to take your time on drilling out the spot welds. if it was me I would only remove the lower part.

I can't upload photos on this site, but my '30 Roadster cowl has both sides removed and new Brookville panels waiting to be installed. Be sure to get that bottom piece that Snyder's sells that allows the side panels to fold under for attachment. Bob
