We have all probably been exposed to more lead when we sanded on our old cars.....

A tough choice. Bottled water or canned beer! Sometimes life is so difficult. Wayne

The also changed back to the old supply of water without the lead problems.

Not that I was planning to but I wouldn't go anywhere's near that water/ drink, shower Etc and would not trust anyone that says their water is good. It's all about the mighty buck not people's health.. Look at the governmental cover ups so far, so a letter from a hotel is any better??
It's not worth the risk
Now there are reports on CNN that the new water supply contains the legioneers virus

I live in Davison, Michigan 10 miles east of Flint. The water problems are in the city of Flint, not the suburbs!
When the State made Flint change from Detroit (Lake Huron) water to Flint River water they didn't use a corrosion inhibitor which caused a minute amount of lead to leach from the old water pipes. There are 2 dams upstream from Flint which have nice campgrounds and are used for boating, swimming and fishing. This is where Flint took its water.
There is no tie to Legionnaires and Flint's water yet. Check with your local government or the CDC on how many cases of Legionnaires have been reported in your area, you would be surprised!
As to beer, Ben Franklin said "Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy". Weather or not he actually said this is irrelevant, I like it.

Some STUPID people think Rivers are DUMPS! Once in Oklahoma, an IDIOT backed his truck up to the FRAGILE CLAY BANKS of Red River to dump his junk. "THEY" say, that when the river is really low, you can still see the top of the cab!

I live sixty miles away and with all the local media reports I also would not have anything to do with the water in Flint. Google the Detroit newspaper stories before you consume the water in any fashion. Yes they also are saying there is a form of Legionnaires disease. I personally think all major events should be canceled until they can say it is 100 % safe. I want to see the mayor, the governor and the hotel owner drinking the water before I would even shower in it!
On the front page of the Detroit paper today it shows a man with a heart condition walking two miles to get his free jugs of water.

After reading this post, I would have hoped that there would have been a bit more sympathy for the poor folks of Flint who now will never know, whether or not, that they or their children have effects from lead poisoning. Let's not forget that their home values have dropped to nothing, in addition to fears of health issues. Car club crap seems irrelevant.
