Question Just Out of Curiosity

Just Out of Curiosity...........

Has anyone installed an electric fan in front of the radiator on a '39 Ford Deluxe; (85 or 100HP Flathead)?

Waste of time and money or does it help, especially in stop and go traffic?

RR, yes, I did it, with a switch on the dash, it helped a lot in parades, etc. Well worth the effort. However, when I rebuilt my engine, I should have spent more time cleaning out the block...but live and learn!!

I think puller fans are more efficient but it depends how much room you have to work with.

I agree, but in my '39 Deluxe, I used the stock fan as a full time puller, and the front mounted pusher as needed. As you said, it depends on how much room you have.

try to make sure that the fans are offset i believe that the 39 fan sits below the centre of the rad so mount the electric as high as possible

I run a mechanical fan and a electric pusher. My flathead runs cool so I rarely use the pusher but it does work well when needed.
