Default Source for oil filter inlet fitting?

Anyone know where I can source the fitting for the inlet side of the original oil filter on my '48 59A-B? The one that has the restrictor hole?

Someone has messed up the threads on the original, and because of the compression fitting, I can't chase the threads far enough down to fix them.

Thanks, Dave

Dave, You should be able to find a fitting at NAPA with the correct threads and simply solder up the orifice and drill a hole. Factory specification was .058" - .062".

NAPA Weatherhead #1512 is the correct fitting, already comes with a .060" orifice. I understand it may have been discontinued, but there are undoubtedly many still in stock around the country.

They are fairly common because they are used on tubros.

Last time I went to buy one, it had to be ordered from the distribution center. When it arrived, it was the wrong part, someone had guessed at the part number for a Tee and it got inventoried that way. When they checked they came back that it was NLA. But likely still in inventory some places. The ones for turbos are usually not the right flare: http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/oilinre.html

Success! Showed in stock at a NAPA store not too far away. The local store is having it shipped to them, and I'll pick it up next week.

Thanks for everyone's input! You guys are life-savers!

That is true, but fairly easy to adapt IF you can't find anything else. It is also possible to braze up a fitting and drill it to size.

Thanks Don, but I think I was able to find a new one at NAPA. If it's not as described when it comes in, I'll circle back with you.
