Re: Question 34 roadster doors
Be cautious... US doors are different than Aussie doors.

Re: Question 34 roadster doors
I wanted to know about the doors because I was at a auction where there was a set of phaeton doors both fronts and rears(nice shape) and a 34 phaeton car for auction. If I was not succesful on the car I would have bid on the doors. The fronts were better than mine for my roadster. All worked out good tho I bought the car.(Phaeton)

Re: Question 34 roadster doors
Somebody needs to walk me thru putting pictures on the fordbarn, because I did take pictures. It is so easy to put pictures on e-bay. I even have a recent picture of a shed find 33 2 dr from a couple of weeks ago that I got.

Again, you are the man ! You are absolutely right ! My phaeton doors are different. FIRST ........... The width of the center post is much narrower on mine. SECOND ........ The front and rear doors swing off the same double hinge on mine. I believe that other one is an Australian phaeton. MIKE Last edited by FL&WVMIKE; 11-02-2013 at 08:51 PM. |

Re: Question 34 roadster doors
front doors for aussie cars were the same when shipped from Canada but were then modified badly to made them clear the wood subfloor. Hinges very different.

I did indeed get lucky and have procured a passenger side set thanks to a helpful fordbarner!

Re: Question 34 roadster doors
Regarding Door Hinges for Phaetons, the USA are totally different to the Australia cars. The attached photos show the Hinges on an Australian 1934 Ford Phaeton (green) while the close coupled Hinges are from an USA 1934 Ford Phaeton (navy blue). The photo of the Door shows the inside of an Australian 1934 Ford Phaeton. The diagonal strengthening brace does not have a Pressing down the middle like the USA models have.
