Filling Transmission Oil.....
Another newbie question for the experts here.......how do you guys put the oil in the transmission, kind of close quarters under there......I tried to use a lab squeeze bottle with a curved spout on it and that seems to get in there but will take for ever to refill if completely drained......any words of wisdom would be appreciated.
Thanks Nick

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
Bratton's, and probably other suppliers sell their 600W oil in a quart size squeeze bottle. The cap has a point on it you can cut to size. Put your finger over the cut point and hold the bottle at the fill hole then stick the point in and squeeze. Fill to spill. In other words fill until it overflows.

That's the only way one should change the oil in his tires.

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
It looks like it is just screwed in but I'm not sure, I may have one of the guys in the club check it out before I start messing with it.
Thanks Mitch

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
I will never under stand why nobody uses these any more. Not very hard to use and
so simple. You can buy them at most auto parts. Put the oil in the sun for a while. Its all I use. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-Ge...-Pump/16351021 |

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
I use my wife's old hair coloring squeeze bottles for brake fluid and trans oil. The brake fluid is the hardest! Terry

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
Post #13 has it right. I have the Mitchell transmission dip stick kit. You can simply check the oil level or fill the trans by merely lifting up the floor mat, removing the deck plate, and you have it right in front of you. It sure beats crawling under the car!

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
I would rather not pull the floor board and just use the little squeeze bottle. Much easier IMO

Re: Filling Transmission Oil.....
I agree, and as far as crawling under the car, I have to do that each time I grease it. If the tranny or rear end needs oil more than that, then it's time to fix the leaks.
