Re: Zenith problems
With the Zenith it could be any number of things. You did not mention it but is this carb recently rebuilt? The idle settings are correct but it could debris from the tank has plugged a jet or some other blockage. I would take it apart and make sure their is no debris.

Re: Zenith problems
What happens if you pull the choke a little while it's ideling? If it smooths out, then you are running too lean, and may have to move the float or unplug a jet. Hard to say without being there and without knowing what was done to the carb.

Re: Zenith problems
90% of all fuel problems are electrical.

Re: Zenith problems
Make sure the carb is wide open when the pedal is all the way on the floor.

Re: Zenith problems
Many "rebuilt" carbs are not properly rebuilt. Are you positive it is the carb? You said you had problems before? Possibilities are:
1. You have a problem other than the carb??? 2. Your carb is clean inside so it was not correctly rebuilt 3. Your carb has been damaged since it was rebuilt maybe the float setting is off or someone ran drills or wire through the jets to see if they are clean (a NO NO). |

Re: Zenith problems
Another thought, do you have a vac leak somewhere between manifold and w/shield wiper motor?

Re: Zenith problems
Agree with Steve. Squirt carb cleaner around the manifold connection to the block or anywhere else air leaks can occur and see if the engine races up.
