Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Comparison of both "upper" mechanical weight guide plates. The one on top is from the helmet and the lower one is from the crab. The opening for thr helmet is larger which I'm guessing allows for more movement and more "advance". Is this correct as this seems opposite from what I read meaning the 11A version has more "advance" than the 68 version.

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Comparison of both the "lower" mechanical weight quite plates. You can see that they are quite a bit different in terms of the position of the openings versus the slot. Does anyone know why and what this differences equates to?

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Comparison of both the mechanical advance weights. They look identical to me, except the ones from the crab have a slight angular "notch" cut out from the one side. The crab weights are the ones on top.

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Didn't get a chance to order the parts, but did try out the glass bead I picked up yesterday. Very impressed with the results.

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Just ordered a bunch of stuff from Mike at Third Gen including a used 11A shaft. Super nice to deal with. Hoping I'll have my flattie running in the next month or two. Lol!

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
When you have it all done stop in at my place and we can spin it up on the SUN 404 Distributor Tester to check the advance curve, dwell and point float.

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Haha! Thanks for the offer! I grew up in London, ON and was meaning to head down there to visit some relatives over Christmas, but because of COVID that plan has been shot to hell. I did pick up a nice Allen syncrograph last year down in Rochester, NY. I need to get that up and running as well.

Re: Thoughts on Helmet Dizzy rebuild?
Got the first coat of my aluminum high heat paint on. Someone went to town with a grinder or belt sander on the nose. Not sure if I'll try to fill it in a bit.
