Default posting problem

Ryan, I'm a new member with a lot of questions. All my questions even when they weren't the smartest have been answered with good, polite replies. The problem that I'm having is getting kicked off the signed in list when I post a "quick reply", "start a new thread" or just " reply". This the second time I've typed this because I got kicked out the first time and everything I typed disappeared. This is a big problem because of a numbness in my right hand which forces me to use two fingers. Are other members having this problem?

Before you hit the send key... Hi-lite the text and do a "copy".

If something goes wrong, start again and simply "paste" all your good work back into a new message. Saves a lot of frustration.

I think its a timeout issue. I think it happens when you sign in and read a few posts and you are cruising around the sight for about 15 min then you type in a reply and another 5 min has passed. and you have timed out.

Thank you both so very much. I'll copy and paste from now on. And, of course it's a time out problem. Thank you, as I mentioned earlier my typing and probably my thinking is not as fast as it used to be. However, my persistence is at an all time high. Thanks again.

Wingski

You can always type it out in word and then copy and paste into the ford barn message window.

I think it has to do with "cookies" being accepted.

If you copy all of your text before posting as mentioned is a good idea. What I usually do is use a text editor or word processor to craft my post, then copy it and post it. I started doing this after losing some long posts, just like what happened to you.

Sorry for the hassle. That problem happens when your browser is out of memory. Here is how you can beat it:

1. Clear the cache and temporary internet files from your browsers memory.

2. Next time you login, click the "remember me" box.

After that, you will be good to go!

Thanks,

Ryan
