Default Gas peddle to throttle linkage 51 Merc

What holds the gas peddle rod to the throttle linkage? Mine has come undone and I haven't had a chance to get all the way under there to take a good look. All I was able to do is hook it back together temporarily.

Here's a helpful pictorial from the book shown. Be sure and buy it.
I posted it several times so you can , print, cut and past photos together.
Hope this helps.

That clip shouldn't be to hard to find as it was used for many years in many cars. in fact there's one on my Snapper lawn mower.

Have to be careful because they come left and right hand style. The one you need is the opposite side of the one where the throttle rod hooks to the carburetor.

There are different sizes too for the diameter of the rod in the application.

Napa has them. When replacing my gas pedal, mine popped off the rod. When that happens, you won't find it until you buy another, which I did, both r/h and l/h, buck apiece. Yes, thereupon found the original.

If you go to Napa, take the rod as those clips come in several sizes.
