Need some help identifying
Gents, recently picked up a body and am having some trouble nailing down exactly what I have. All I have to go by is the serial plate on the firewall. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Need some help identifying
Picture of the body would assist in any identification.

There's not much left of it as it's been chopped up, but I will see what I can get for you.

Re: Need some help identifying
Serial plate is obviously crudely removed from something and crudely reattached here.
The "B" does not belong, leading me to suspect that the intent was to convert this into a phony '32 serial (wrong in every possible way historically, wrong in a felonious way legally). Is this heap being described as a '32 Ford?? Any way, the number is on the wrong vehicle and has been altered with the B. I think that's two felonies. |

Ditto on the felonies.
It is quite possible that the body tag is not original to what you have. Even if it were a '28 model A special coupe yours doesn't seem to have the same shape. Possible it's not even a Ford body.

The vehicle, what clues there are, I'm not recognizing. There is not a whole lot left of whatever it started out as, but you knew that.

Re: Need some help identifying
Absolutely I know there's not a whole lot left. It seems that it was originally a t-bucket style rod that had the top added later. I'm not trying to win any shows or friends with this thing, I was just curious to the origin of the tag/body. Even without the B, I was just coming up short in some research. Figured I'd turn to some experts to maybe point me in the right direction. Thanks for the help anyways.

Re: Need some help identifying
I think the tag is going to prove to be something from the '49-52 period, but that's a guess.
Whatever it is, it is a couple of decades newer than the body, is very crudely transplanted, and is altered. I think any encounter this car has with government is going to end very, very badly. I think the part damaged by the B would identify the type of Ford it came from. |

Cowl is 30-31 Ford, and the sides of the roof look like 28-29 Tudor sedan rear quarters to me.
