Just a quick word to say hello from France. I've just bought a 1931 Sport Coupe that has been in Europe since being imported from California in 1992. It's pretty sound but I have a list of things to do so will probably be asking a few questions in the coming months. A great site by the way.

I will post a few more photos in the next couple of days. I live in the South West of France about an hour and a half south of the Loire Valley and an hour and a half in from the Atlantic coast. It's a quiet rural area with plenty of uncrowded country roads to enjoy the Model A on. There is quite a lot of interest in 'Vehicles de Collection' in the area and I am hoping to join in with some of the events laid on. The big local event is the Circuit des Remparts at Angouleme which has racing in historic cars around the walled hilltop town and a drive out in the local countryside for historic cars. The lunchtime stop is often in the grounds of a local chateau which adds to the photo opportunities on offer.

The cars that you see around and about from the 1920s and 1930s tend to be from French manufacturers but I expect hat the Model A will be made welcome by the enthusiasts.

Also, if you look under this Model A Forum's "Search", you will find that Mr. Tony Hillyard, sometimes posting on this Forum, lives in France also .............. i.e., Pleines Oeuvres, Normandy; however, it looks like about a (4) to 5) hour drive up further north from your location in Le Ravary.

Hi. I live not far from Limoges so let me know if you're ever down this way. I've booked in to take part in the Circuit des Remparts International Rally in the Model A so hopefully I will have got its registration sorted out by then.

Ah, the timeless beauty of country roads and rural scenery... Perfect for the Model A and her comfy speed of 40-48 mph (65-75 kph)! and some Beaujolais around the last bend... (after you park the lady, of course!)

Hi Terry. Hopefully there's not too much wrong with the car. It runs and drives OK despite having a non-standard carburetor, (I've got that one sorted out) and its other problems come from it being stored and unused for too long. I need to sort out a few electrical problems but they shouldn't be too difficult, the lights and horn aren't working and the light switch in the steering column is upside down, the lever points up not down.

It's up side down the lever point to your feet.

The carb is a modern one used on powered industrial equipment (fork lifts and stuff).

A search on here will give you a lot of information on the carb.
