Default 34 pickup radiator checkup

I am about to take my 34 pickup radiator to a local rad shop to have it cleaned out and checked. Is there anything special I need to have them look for or any upgrades I should consider for it? It’s going to be used to cool a stock 59a motor. Thanks in advance.

Go to the oldest shop you can find in your area and talk to the oldest guy in the shop.

It's their professional business - let them do it - as with anything else.
