Default priming an oil pump

How do I prime a model A oil pump already installed in the engine?

I have never primed the oil pump after reinstalling oil pan.

If it is in the oil it is already primed. If you want to circulate oil before starting crank a few revolutions before choking and starting.

you guys are right, the Model A and model B oil pump sits in the oil priming itself. The v8 oil pump does not sit in the oil because the filter canister is screwed together.

The A engine will pre-oil the mains by dumping a quart of oil down the dist. hole. Re-install the dist. quickly and start the engine, otherwise the oil will return to the pan and you'll have to start over.
