Mounting a universal turn signal
Does anyone have a way to mount a universal turn signal other than using a hose clamp?

Nope. That's just the way of things.

Re: Mounting a universal turn signal
I drilledl two holes in the bracket that mounts to the steering tube and used "nutserts" (10-32) to mount the switch to my column with S.S. R.H. allens

I hang them under the dash with just the handle sticking down. I dislike mounting them on the column .... you can just see the handle in the pic and I use LEDs for indicators - nice and bright but most everything is invisible ....

Unless you are interested in mounting it under the dash as some do?

The other option if you still want to have a switch on the column is using the VW bus switch. The only drawback is the mounting bracket will not allow you to use the switch on a car with a column shift. I have one of these on my '41 pickup and if you paint the switch body column color it almost looks like something that was stock. These switches are hard to find used and new ones are about $100. |

This uses a different type of clamp. Battery operated. No wires. Rear only.

Re: Mounting a universal turn signal
Fordy.....I did the same thing with a bike turn indicator. Mounted the same as yours. I have a small clicker that I vel-cro'd to the dash. Works really great. I'm working on an idea for the front too now. I want to use the same unit on front.....but only one clicker !
